If I can create work that addresses issues of life and the quality of existence I feel I have approached the truest meaning of art. I search for a resolution between abstraction and representation, between spirituality and physicality. Within this context both social and philosophical issues may be addressed.
Much of my inspiration comes from the streets of Toronto. My technique using oil sticks on board, mylar and canvas allows me to draw with paint, focusing on the large shapes. Some of my recent work includes collage with resin and encaustic.
The human condition in all its forms is the commonality that binds all of my work.
